Founded in 1895, the Golf- und Land-Club Berlin-Wannsee e.V. is one of the most renowned and largest golf clubs in Germany. Personalities from the worlds of diplomacy, politics, business, culture and science meet here for a sporting break and social relaxation. The 27-hole golf course is easily accessible in the south-west of Berlin and, idyllically nestled in the old trees of the typical Brandenburg forest landscape with its slightly hilly and varied fairways, offers golfers of all levels sporting challenges and relaxing tranquillity in equal measure. The 18-hole championship course, with its sometimes narrow fairways, differences in elevation and sloping lies, demands a well-considered playing strategy and can be a test of character even for experienced golfers. An excellent restaurant in the spacious clubhouse offers an exclusive setting for social and business contacts. Around 30 employees in the areas of greenkeeping, club administration and golf school offer the 2,000 members and guests of the Golf- und Land-Club Berlin-Wannsee e.V. a high level of quality. Special demands are placed on professional service, first-class course maintenance and ecology. Golf- und Land-Club Berlin-Wannsee e.V. is committed to the protection of nature and the countryside, for which the club has already been awarded a gold certificate by the German Golf Association (DGV) as part of its "Golf&Nature" environmental and quality management program. In addition to its special social status, the oldest official golf club in Germany, which looks back on an eventful history, is also very ambitious in terms of sport. The DGV has repeatedly awarded the quality management certificate in gold and the national "Future Youth" prize for the best promotion of young talent in Germany for its intensive youth commitment. The club has also repeatedly been awarded the "Green Ribbon for exemplary talent development" by the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB). This work with young talent forms the basis for a number of team and individual successes. By winning several German championship titles and being appointed to the German national squad, the club has achieved an outstanding position in German amateur golf. The club's men's and women's teams play in the 1st Bundesliga and the youth teams are among the best in Germany.
