More and more tourists are discovering the Czech Republic for themselves. Golf tourists in particular are in good hands here, as golf is no longer seen as a sport for the rich. With reasonable prices and concepts, golf is offered to the masses, and the country also attracts visitors with its many sights off the course.
There are already over 90 golf clubs in the Czech Republic and new ones are constantly being built - including exciting, modern designs for interesting golf courses.
What golf courses are there in the Czech Republic?
Golfing in the Czech Republic is suitable for everyone, whether beginner or advanced. Due to the strong expansion of golf in the country, golf enthusiasts, regardless of the region, have the opportunity to discover and play some beautiful courses everywhere. Not far from Germany, for example, is Bohemia with the beautiful town of Marianske (Marienbad). The Royal Golf Club Marianske Lazne, the Golf Resort Franzensbad, Golf Sokolor, the Astoria Golf Resort Cihelny, the Golf Club Kynzvart and the Golf Resort Karlovy Vary are all highly recommended. For golfers who want to play as many golf courses as possible during their vacation, it is worth getting a golf pass. This usually includes five green fees for around 210 euros.
Prices in the Czech Republic vary greatly. You can play an 18-hole round for 20 euros or 123 euros. On average, however, the green fee in the Czech Republic is around 50 euros.
Golf equipment and electric golf carts can easily be hired on all golf courses in the Czech Republic.
The most common airports in the Czech Republic are Prague, Brno, Ostrava, Karlovy Vary and Pardubice. These can be reached from Germany in around 1 1/2 hours by plane. Czech Airlines flights are the most frequent between Germany and the Czech Republic, flying from Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Hanover. Normal excess baggage charges apply for golf equipment. Germanwings also flies the route between Germany and the Czech Republic - here there is an additional charge of 50 euros for golf equipment.
The best time to travel depends on the region you want to visit, as the Czech Republic lies in a transition zone between the Central European oceanic climate and the Eastern European continental climate. In general, however, it can be said that the best conditions are in May, June and September. The weather is very pleasant at this time and you avoid the large influx of tourists that takes place in July and August.
As a rule, the best way to visit golf courses is by car. Occasionally there are offers where you are driven to the surrounding golf courses by shuttle.
You can stay in vacation homes and apartments, campsites or one of the many star hotels. When choosing a hotel, it is worth visiting a travel agency.
If you are new to the Czech Republic, it is worth flying to Bohemia or Prague. There is a wealth of golf courses in the immediate vicinity that can be visited. Vacationers who are already a little more familiar with the Czech Republic can also visit the other surrounding golf courses.
Wenceslas Square in Prague is one of the most important sights in the country. A whole series of historical events took place here that have gone down in Czech history. Prague also has the Old Town Square with the birthplace of Franz Kafka, St. Vitus Cathedral and Charles Bridge to admire. The Bohemian Forest is also home to the UNSECO World Heritage-listed town of Krummau, also known as the "Venice on the Vltava". Okres Klatovy is also home to Rabi Castle, the largest castle ruin in the Czech Republic. It probably dates back to the 12th century, making it one of the oldest fortifications in the country.
It is often said that Czech cuisine is not necessarily healthy. Nevertheless, there are some interesting dishes that you should try during your stay.
There are plenty of Asian markets along the German and Austrian borders where you can find cheap counterfeit goods. However, you should always be sure of the quality. As a general rule, however, you should avoid the border regions, shop inland instead, avoid imported goods and buy typical Czech products. The city of Cheb and of course the capital Prague are particularly worthwhile for a shopping spree.

Common languages are Czech, German, English and Russian. Czechs are generally considered to be very open-minded. Due to the long communist regime, no church was able to establish itself, which is why religion usually plays a subordinate role despite the Czech Republic's fascinating cathedrals.
