Golfing Region Cape Town

Cape Town is the parliamentary capital of South Africa. The city and the surrounding towns belonging to the City of Cape Town Metropolitan Municipality are home to over four million people. The city is particularly famous for its landmark, Table Mountain, and the Cape of Good Hope.

Cape Town has a lot to offer vacationers. The sights range from the history of the city and South Africa, to art, culture and breathtaking nature, to the unique coastline on the Indian and Atlantic Oceans. One example is Robben Island, where South African politician Nelson Mandela was imprisoned. The island has been designated a UNSECO World Heritage Site.

In addition to the activities described above, Cape Town also offers a wide range of sports. Many water sports enthusiasts are drawn to the city's coastline to take advantage of the combination of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans and the prevailing winds. But the region is also very popular with golfers. There are over 500 golf courses in South Africa, some of which can be found in Cape Town. One of the most famous courses is located behind the Cape Town Stadium, a soccer stadium for the 2010 World Cup, and can be seen in many photos of the city.
