Mount Wolseley Golf And Country Club

Description

The par 72, 6570m championship course with a standard scratch of 74 from the back tees was designed by Ryder Cup player Christy O'Connor. There are no easy holes and the generous landing zones are the only concession to make the challenging approach shots for almost all greens a little easier. When I spoke to the Dalton brothers from Waterford, who had recently played from the back tees for the first time, about the course at Mount Wolseley Golf & Country Club, they described it as follows: "We had pain in our drivers." This description from two International Amateur golfers shows just how difficult this course is. Water plays a part on eleven holes and the eleventh stretches from the championship tees over 189 meters of water. A round of golf on the Mount Wolseley course is always a great memory for golfers who appreciate a challenging and exciting game in a memorable and historic area.
