Withington Golf Club Hosts Successful Charity Golf Day Supporting PAPYRUS UK

The Captains charity for this year at Withington Golf Club is @papyrus_uk Prevention of Young Suicide - we’re proud to be supporting them and the work they do.

Yesterday we hosted over 100 for our Charity Golf Day. The sun shone, the course was resplendent, we were treated to great service and catering from @warrenburnscatering with @jamescurtisgolfpga , in the pro shop, and our brilliant member volunteers, giving a warm welcome. Immense thanks to James Dunn, Bob Ganley, Tom Keely and Dave Gittoes for their hard work in making this day great.

It was great to hear from Mike Palmer, explaining how we can make a difference through the tragic lived experience of his own daughters suicide. We all took inspiration from the 3 Dad’s walking.

We had a huge array of sponsors, prizes and donations, raising over £5000 on the day for this wonderful and important cause.

A few of the many thank you’s we need to say. @johnbillgill , @elizabethbradbury (Captain and Lady Captain), @gary.unsworth.56 President and auctioneer on the night! Nick McIvor and Paul Evans, from Oak Building services and all their suppliers who made an immense contribution to the day, donations and prizes. Special thanks to

All those members and business that played, bought raffle tickets and auction items. Roger Hannah, Simon Cook Stuart Cooper Uinsure Likewise Tixstock, Shaun McSorley Nicholas Evans Andy Deutsch.

Well done to Chris Woolnough for his impressive hole in one at the 10th.
