This weekend, members played for the George Glennie Medal.
George Glennie remains one of the Club's most accomplished golfers, winning the Spring Medal four times, the Summer Medal six times and the Bombay Medal four times. He also won the Gold Medal at Royal North Devon three times and the Silver Medal of the Royal & Ancient.
He was Captain in 1862 and 1863, and Secretary and Treasurer from 1868 to 1886. In 1881, the Club honoured his services as Secretary by having the George Glennie Medal struck. A second medal was donated to the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews and still played for annually.
