Kirk Rosebowl Medal – Wednesday 7th August
Lewis Rowlands takes leading qualifier in latest Kirk Rosebowl qualifier on 40 points, in the last of four scheduled Stableford qualifiers.
A field of 85 players braved another typical Scottish summer Wednesday medal with rain showers and a biting strong wind to try to book their qualifying place. In the Division One competition Alexander Bathgate took the honours and leading qualifier with 36 Points, edging out Nick Henderson on the countback. Alexander was out in 16 Points and came home with a fine 20 Points helped along with a birdie at 16 and seven pars on the homeward 9 holes. Nick was out in steady nines of 18 Points. With birdies at 4, 6 & 18.

In Division 2, Lewis Rowlands took top spot and leading qualifier with a fine 40 Points beating Jordan MacKinnon by one point. Lewis went out in 20 Points and returned with 20 Points carding birdies at the 4th & 6th in the process. Jordan out in 19 Points and came home with 20 Points which included a birdie at hole 16.
In Division 3, Stevie Cowie took top spot with 36 Points beating Robert Cullen on the countback after he also carded 36 Points. Stevie went out in 17 Points and returning in 19 Points carding 6 net birdies along the way. Robert went out in 18 Points and returning in 18 Points which included a birdie at the 12th hole.

Five players birdied the 15th hole, Fergus McRae, Alan Rome, Philip Kilkenny, Karl Conway and Daniel Morris each collecting £13.44 in the “Two’s” sweep.
