Ashley Wood Golf Club's Steve Cheshire Walks Hadrian's Wall for Charity
06/11/2024
Our Seniors' Captain Steve Cheshire is currently undertaking a walk of Hadrian's Wall Path which is 135km in length
Raising money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and the Riding for the Disabled (RDA) as his chosen charities for 2024 He has taken a Golf Club and balls with him so that on each of the 9 days he can 'play' a small part of the wall
Update! By the end of Saturdays walk Steve had walked more than half of the wall, covering a distance of 83 km with ascents totalling 1,730 m.
Once on the high ground some of the path becomes a little ‘hairy’ as it traverses craggy rock faces. To be honest a golf club starts to became more of a hindrance than a help at this point.
However as you can see from the photos the views are spectacular and whenever the rain stops the Lob Wedge comes out.
Keep it going Steve
