Golf Resort Bad Griesbach, Allfinanz Golfplatz Brunnwies

The Allfinanz Brunnwies golf course was Bernhard Langer's first design for the Golf Resort Bad Griesbach, and his design for the 18-hole course is still considered a complete success today. The championship course is a kind of "Best of Bad Griesbach", containing almost everything that distinguishes the golf resort and makes it popular: magnificent views of beautiful nature, fairways that blend harmoniously into the hilly landscape, a varied, sporty design that is manageable for everyone, a very good state of maintenance and, with the Gutshof, a cozy, rustic meeting place that makes après-golf a pleasure.

It is this unique combination that makes Brunnwies the favorite course in the golf resort for many leisure golfers and prompted the English trade magazine "Golf World" to name Brunnwies one of the "Top 20" golf courses in Europe. Extensive rough, water in strategic places and heavily undulating, hand-mown greens, which are challenging to putt and allow tricky flag positions, are sporting characteristics.

The visual appeal of the par 71/70 course is mainly due to the landscape structure. The 18 holes wind almost naturally through the gentle hills of the Rottal valley and offer wonderful views of the landscape, which is also known as the "Bavarian Tuscany". Only in two places are there steeper climbs, which at their highest points not only offer beautiful views but also particularly interesting holes with long tee shots into the deep: After the long climb up to the fifth and nearby sixth green at the top of the plateau, the seventh tee is a long shot into the deep. Long hitters who can hit beyond the adjacent field on the right have the chance to reach the elevated green of this highly interesting par 5 hole in two shots.

The elevated 14th tee is also spectacular: the green, defended by a pond and two bunkers, is a good 50 meters lower, and the right choice of club is crucial on this par 3, which is 155 meters long from the yellow tees. As befits a good golf course, the final hole is also challenging and memorable. At the downhill dogleg to the right, long hitters can take a huge shortcut with a perfect tee shot and almost hit the ball onto the green, but they have to overcome trees and the out of bounds.
