The course has won the "Toro Green Keeper of the Year" award and extensive modernization work has been carried out in recent years. Fowler's design philosophy of "strategy and reward" is evident in the course's manicured atmosphere and superb putting surfaces. However, the ongoing improvements to the course and clubhouse have not come by chance: generations of the Abbeydale family have sacrificed their time and strived to constantly improve the club.
