1. Erik van Rooyen started to play golf when he was seven years old. He was introduced to the game by his father and grandfather. He started to play competitively at the age of 14.
2. Erik's caddie since 2019 is Alex Gaugert. They met at the University of Minnesota and became very good friends.

5. Eriks plays with non-typical trousers for a golfer called “joggers". They are shorter than the traditional trousers, because they have a bit of elastic around the ankles which prevents the bottoms from getting dirty.
