Just a week before the 121st U.S Open the best PGA Tour golfers travel to Congaree Golf Club for the inaugural Palmetto Championship at Congaree.
Who are the favorites?
Dustin Johnson

World number one Dustin Johnson returns to action for the first time since he missed the cut at the PGA Championship. The American hasn’t posted a top 10 since The Genesis Invitational in February where he finished tied for eight. Johnson will try to tune his game and gain some confidence before next week’s U.S Open – a tournament he won in 2016.
Brooks Koepka

Like Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka has been off the course since the PGA Championship. At Kiawah Island he finished tied for second and recorded his 14th top 10 finish from 28 major appearances. It seems Koepka was more concentrated on his social media feud with Bryson DeChambeau than his game.
Tyrrell Hatton

Since the Saudi International at the beginning of February Tyrrell Hatton plays only on the PGA Tour, but he is yet to impress. The Englishman missed only one cut, but his best finish is a shared 18th place which came at the Masters. He has been tested positive for COVID-19 in early May and played only once since then.
Form-horse
Garrick Higgo

Garrick Higgo is not a familiar face on the PGA Tour, we have used to see him mainly on the European stage. The young South African won twice and posted another two top 10s in his last five starts. Higgo made his majors debut at the PGA Championship where finished tied for 64th.
Wildcard
Wilco Nienaber

We can easily say that Wilco Nienaber is a global tour player. In the last couple of months the young South African has played on the European Tour, the Challenge Tour and the Sunshine Tour. This week Nienaber will make his PGA Tour debut and no doubt, he will try to show his skills on that big stage. A month ago Nienaber claimed the title at the Dimension Data Pro-Am (Challenge Tour).
