In 2020 only one LPGA Tour major was cancelled - the Amundi Evian Championship. The tournament now returns on the calendar for its eight edition since it became a major in 2013. The 2021 Amundi Evian Championship which starts on Thursday has a prize fund of $4,500,000 and will be played at Evian Resort Golf Club in France. The course has par 71 and it is measured at 6,523 yards. This week 27 different countries will have representatives in the 126-player field which includes the top five players in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.

World number one Nelly Korda took a few weeks off after her triumph at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship last month. The 22-year-old American for the first time in her career will enter a tournament as the top ranked player in the world.

Jin Young Ko, ranked second in the world, is the defending champion this week. The South Koreanan won the title in 2019 after a birdie-par finish at Evian Resort Golf Club. Jin Young Ko won the Volunteers of America Classic earlier this month and hasn't played since then.

Inbee Park is the most experienced players from those who are considered favorites. Park will have some extra motivation this week as this is the only major she hasn't won yet. The Korean is very solid this season and she hasn't missed a cut since the ShopRite LPGA Classic presented by Acer last October. Finished tied for seventh in the first two majors of the year.
