The PGA Tour moves to Texas for this week's Charles Schwab Challenge. World number 16 Daniel Berger will defend his title against a strong field including last week PGA Championship winner Phil Mickelson.
Who are the favorites?
Jordan Spieth

Jordan Spieth arrives at Colonial Country Club after a solid week at the PGA Championship. The American didn't complete his Career Grand Slam at the Kiawah Island, but a shared 30th place is not so bad considering the tough conditions on the Ocean Course. Spieth has pretty good record at the Charles Schwab Challenge which he won back in 2016 and has two runner-up finishes from nine appearances in Colonial. The American has a win and three other top 10 finishes in his last five starts. The last time when Spieth didn't make the weekend was eleven tournaments ago at the Farmers Insurance Open.
Justin Thomas

World number two Justin Thomas is the highest ranked golfer in the field this week. The current Players champion missed the cut last week at the PGA Championship and will be eager to feed his ego taking the top spot at the FedEx Cup standing from Bryson DeChambeau who has a week off. Thomas made his debut at the Charles Schwab Challenge last year and had the solo lead after the third round. A poor round of 71 in the final day dropped him to tied for 10th on the final leaderboard.
Collin Morikawa

Collin Morikawa had the perfect debut last year when he almost won the title. He was beaten on the first extra hole in the playoff by Daniel Berger. Morikawa posted two top 10's in his last two starts including a solid tied eight place at the PGA Championship where he was defending his title. The American leads in Strokes Gained: Approach the green stats which is crucial for a course with small greens like Colonial.
Form-horse
Abraham Ancer

It is hard to believe that the 30 years old Mexican still hasn't won on the PGA Tour. Ancer, who impressed last week with a 65 in the final round of the PGA Championship, is T8-2-5 in his last three starts. He has good memories from Colonial where shared 14th place last year.
Wildcard
Peter Uihlein

Peter Uihlein, once 48th in the world, slowly returns to form and has a win and a T7 place on the Korn Ferry Tour since April. The American has been struggling terrible on the course in the last couple of seasons and ended 2020 ranked 493rd in the world. Uihlein has two top 15 finishes from three appearances at the Charles Schwab Challenge.
